LUKE WARM... Half-Life 2 (Retail) $29.99 Final Price + Free Ship

I have been looking for a deal for Half-Life 2. The closest I get is either eBay or Amazon (which will probably guarantee the best product.)

$29.99 is the final price at Amazon.com since it includes free shipping. At least it ain't the CompUSA price of $49.99. Know what I mean?

you missed out on the $.99 half life 2 deal

of course this deal will probably come with a functioning copy which is a bonus 😉

Turn this into a hot deal. Sign up for an Amazon.com credit card and get $30 to spend on any item. Since it's under $30 for HL2 you have to pay one cent. It's a credit card, you don't have to pay an annual fee. You get 3% back in the form of an Amazon.com coupon (for purchases from Amazon.com). And hey, you don't have to use it at all after purchasing HL2. 🙂

Thanks...I didn't get a chance to jump on the $20 deal at CompUSA and finally got a copy.

Although for $5 more the collector's edition might be a better deal. That's what I ordered.

Since when do you get bad credit for canceling a card?

I have cancelled several cards over the years and my beacon score is 870.

Opening/Canceling Credit cards will impact your credit score, but it also depends on how often you do it. Creditor usually look out for themselves... so when you open/close a card just to get $30 you bettcha they are going to flag you on their system if not more.

"It's important to only cancel credit cards with empty credit lines. If your balance is anything but zero, you'll want to keep the account open until you pay it off."

If your credit card balance is zero, go ahead and close as many unused accounts as you want. As long as your credit cards are balance-free, it won't hurt your credit score a bit. So call those card issuers and cut away.

If you're in credit trouble or if you had credit problems in the past and you know an open credit line is just going to tempt you to spend -- go ahead and close the account.

Yes, it may ding your credit score a bit. But if it will keep you from acquiring more debt, it's best to do it. You can worry about building up your credit score after you're back on your feet financially."
