It appears as though NewEgg finally decided to bring the Evga 8800GT down to the retail price of $249.99 ($20 price drop)...They've also reduced the price of the Superclocked version down to $269.99 (also a $20 price drop)...

The Standard card is currently OOS, but will probably be back in stock in a day or two...The Superclocked version is in stock...

Not a Hot Deal by any means, just sharing information...

That's a good find...However, I just tried to call & got thrown into voicemail, even when I opted to speak with Customer Service...When I tried to speak with the operator, there wasn't one...

Maybe you guys have had better luck, but I like to do business with companies that answer their phones...

this is certainly a step in the right direction - hopefully it will also push down the prices on the 8800gt's in the f/s trade section

NCIXUS suddenly lists the regular EVGA 8800GT as in-stock in small quantities. Is the difference between the normal and the "Superclocked" worth the price? Apparently eVGA doesn't ask if you fry something trying to OC...

Is it worth waiting, or should I jump now? I want to build with an E8400 and finish this off by the end of the month, hopefully spending <$500 for those two components...

I don't know...I'm currently on the fence with doing business with them because of the simple fact they don't answer their phones...It doesn't leave much recourse if you have to do everything via email...

For me, this is one of those "First Impression" moments...My first impression with them isn't a very good one...At this point, unless a few people chime in this thread & share some great experiences with this company, I'll probably continue my search for a good deal...I'd like to have a card by this Friday...

I jumped on the superclocked one at NCIXUS and got the order PIN code (automatic system calls you and you have to verify your order online) email right away. Also received "payment has been processed" email few hours later... I keep you guys posted how the rest goes.

I'd be very interested to know when you're expected to receive the order...If it's by this Friday, I might jump on it too, but that seems like a long shot...

I doubt that's going to happen.

It took 6 business days that they were open from the time I clicked order to the time my 8800GT was picked up by Fedex. They are SLOW; I hear not so bad after the holidays. But still, when was the last time you ordered from newegg and it took 6 days to be shipped, no matter the season.

Good point...I think I vaguely remember you making a similar comment about NCIX in another thread...I could be mistaken...Anyway, it ticks me off to no end when a company doesn't ship out the following business day...The way business is run today, if the product is in stock, there's no reason it shouldn't ship out the next day...But 6 business days is absolutely unacceptable...Deep Discount DVD did the exact same thing to me before Xmas & they haven't & won't see another dime from me...If you want my business, dammit, you have to earn it...

I can't stand SLOW...I want it NOW!...As a company, you have to be pretty darn inefficient to not be able to do that...Either way, thanks for sharing...

And of course, NewEgg is now currently OOS on the Overclocked version...That's the way this game goes sometimes...lol...You snooze, you lose...lol

Seems like the Superclocked version at NCIXUS has gone up to $255.51. Still shows up as $246.08 in my cart, though, since I never purchased it.

Yep, the price has gone up...Due to the lack of personnel & Customer Service, that makes the NewEgg option look a lot better...At least you know they'll pick up the phone...
