I was suprised to read that he had a stroke. He's not obese. I don't know if he smokes, or drinks. Nor, do I know his dietary habits. Don't know if he's under extreme stress. Maybe it was rec drugs? Bad genes? I always thought that stroke victims were overweight, out of shape, and had poor overall habits. So, what causes strokes in men under 60? BTW, more women are having strokes and millineals are predicted to have health issues like cancer/stroke at a much earlier age. Must be the sitting all day, and eating junk/fast food. What about excess sugar vs fat? Maybe it's the amount of sugar we are consuming, and that could be the culprit.

Probably from people not doing anything anymore. They wake up, and sit on their asses, drive into work sitting on their asses, sit on their ass at work, then reverse the process til in bed again. The simple act of living required exercise <100 years ago. Now, people can't even manage brushing their teeth without the aid of machines. Not a huge surprise they get issues with their circulatory systems.

But life expectancy was way less, more than 100 years ago. Life expectancy for a white male in the USA in 1900 at birth was just 47 years.

Its also in the genes, one of my my friends family half the males have died to stokers none were all in good shape. He also could of been afib and not been on blood thinners.

Misleading. Life expectancy when not including infant/youth mortality was roughly equivalent to today.

We just tended to lose a shitload of kids throughout history, that doesn't happen as much anymore. I'll note that things have improved a fair bit for women, as many women died in childbirth in the past, also not so much now.

I’m reading something on Lincoln and am surprised how long some of those people lived. I always thought 40s 50s tops. Though it seemed making it out of your childhood was an uphill battle.

RIP Mr Perry. You went young :(

Keith Flint of the band Prodigy also passed.

I mean, most people, assuming they have even a moderately active life, only have a handful of things that are likely to cause them to hit the hospital before either getting cancer, or hitting 70ish. If I imagined all garbage food and non-birthing/baby related doctors disappeared tomorrow, after a generation and a half or so, we'd probably re-normalize to within 95% of current levels.

Actors are usually required to hit the gym a bit more than your average IT slob.

Maybe it's true... bad sitcoms like 90210 really DO rot your brain. Either that, or perhaps they did a lot of drugs on set. I can't imagine filming that show that bad while sober, anyway.

We'll know for certain if other cast members start dying off early as well.

Didn't read the article so don't know if they said what type of stroke. Hemorrhagic is a brain bleed which I guess would be something like busted aneurysm. I think those can happen to anybody. Ischemic strokes from a blood clot is the kind associated with poor health like obesity and heart disease. It happens when a build up of plaque in an artery breaks off and blocks blood flow to the brain. The bigger the clot, the larger the artery it can block and the more damage it does. For him to die w/in 24 hours, I'm guessing it would have been a whopper.

Probably going to find an episode of 90210 and watch it for nostalgia sake. I was 10 when it came out so cut me some slack for watching it.

I don't think I saw a single episode. I had caught a bit one time, and it didn't look like anything I was in to. It was basically a soap opera for 20somethings, wasn't it?

I never watched any of his shows, but it is never good when someone his age or younger dies.

His body isn't even room temperature and they are reporting that his estate is worth $10 million. All the relatives and scammers will be coming out of the woodwork.

Also, I think it is kind of odd that an ad for stroke recovery at home appears at the bottom of my screen when I clicked on this thread. 7 day free trial.

I don't know much about him, but I just jump to the assumption that drug use was a factor.

I've only seen one episode of BH90210 while I was visiting family out of state and they were watching it. It was one of the dumbest things I've seen since Saved by the Bell did an episode about "Caffeine" pills. Some character had a suspicion / concern that some other character had a problem with cutting herself. Like the episode was supposed to blow people away that "cutting" is a real thing. Anyway, the concerned character just kept confronting the cutter over and over. "It's because you're cutting yourself, right?" Not making any headway. Just driving the person away. Still kept doing the same thing without adjusting tactics. It was cringe worthy.

It's kind of lame and pathetic for some folks here to bash on 90210 and say it sucked or it was stupid or whatever...

This man, achieved way more success, money, and slept with way more gorgeous, smoking hot women in his life than you ever will. And you are simply... jealous. He may have lived only 53 years, but his life was so much better than an average fat computer jerk sitting behind his desk 24/7.

As for the reasons of his stroke, sadly, I'm afraid we will never know. But remember, even if you exercise, eat right, and stay away from drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and fast food, you can very much drop dead at any point. If it wont be a stroke, it will be cancer, or a heart attack, nuclear war, a mugger on the street, or just some random horrible disease. And yes, there's a good chance that it will be very painful, and you will suffer a lot before the ultimate relief comes.

Sure, you should absolutely exercise and live healthy, but don't expect it to save you from early death. It's like meditation. You do it because you should. Not because you'll necessarily derive benefit from it. It's just something you have to do. Like brushing your teeth, washing dishes or doing your laundry.

This forum desperately needs a [You're A Fuckin' Dumbass] button. I guarantee I've done more worthwhile with my life than Perry did, and what you find valuable is much more telling of where your values are. Pro tip... It isn't a good look, and I'd be embarrassed to post them publicly

Wow, he was much younger than I thought. I thought he was in his 40's when he was playing a high school kid on the small screen in the 90's.
