the movie to me was like a plate of food with something missing that would make it good or even great ..but i cant quite put my finger on what that ingredient is that will push it over the top

i thought it was an ok movie...towards the end when the twist was revealed it was like meh.... it didn matter much i was already losing interest in it

I went ahead and watched it after seeing this thread a couple of days ago.

Two thumbs up from me as well.

I can see the Snatch comparisons, but not so much Tarantino (who I dislike). I'd say more Hitchcock than anything.

It's great if you like film noir. If you want something you can just toss in and not have to think about, stay away or you won't like it. This is why good film noir always gets mixed reviews.

I just saw it at the dollar theater tonite, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised! Overall I thought it was a good movie, one of those that I would recommend to friends. But I agree with those who said the dialogue wasn't as witty or up to par as the plot was trying to be. I'm not sure if its a movie I'd buy on DVD or even try to watch again (unless I'm decorating my apartment--see below.) I thought the whole plot and execution reminded me of "The Usual Suspects", and there aren't too many movies that do that--in fact, one of those ("North by Northwest") is referenced in "Lucky Number Slevin".

Just a few questions--SPOILER ALERT--what was "Goodcat's" reason for helping out the kid? They sort of alluded to it at the end but didn't really answer the question. Also, what was with all the trippy wallpaper? Did anyone else notice the whole 60's/70's retro pattern theme, or was that just me? Oh, and what was the final body count? I think I got to 20 but I'm not sure...because I had to subtract one at the end!! 😉
