Luck was not with me today

So I'm having somewhat of a bad day. Earlier this evening, I went to Walmart to buy something. The product was selling for $24, but with a promotion it was suppose to be $19. Instead, the item came in as $14. Initially, my reaction was positive as I save $5. $5 is $5 no matter how you look at it. However, just before I handed over my Visa, another employee notice something and said, "I thought the item was $19." The manager soon came over and apologized for the mistake and said it was indeed selling for $19. I was upset, but I didn't express it. I can't believe just when I thought something good to happen for the day, it would end up being a disappointment. Of course, it was a pricing error and I wasn't suppose to get the savings anyways, but still. I was so close until the guy opened his mouth. Maybe I got a bit greedy, but man, I thought god was playing with me today. So yes, officially today was a bad day for me. 🙁

I woulda complained. I would have told them i am walking out, as i am not responsible for pricing errors.

If the item rang up $50.... and you pointed out it should be $24.. they'd make you go thru hell to get it adjusted back to $24.

I bought something from Amazon last week for $20.49 and now it's $16.99. They don't pricematch to prior orders. Oh well, get on with life. 😛

Cut me some slack here. I'm just trying to let off some steam. Nothing went right for me today. 🙁

Hopefully no more lame posts from me in the future.

Even in the lamest of threads, guyver still delivers 😀

Dang... where I work, if the price rung up doesn't match what's on the shelf or in the ad, higher OR lower, that item and all of that same item in your cart are FREE.

maybe we should put it in aussie-speak?

price no match what item sell.... item freeeeeeeeeeeee

it's called a price accuracy guarantee.
many stores here in the states have it.

it makes the store insure their POS system is accurate.

what... aussie doesnt have it?

where's your aussie superiority now?

wow...really? Why do you guys have to make life so hard on each other? If this happened in a supermarket here (and it has happened a few times to me) the checkout supervisors literally almost fall over themselves to credit me the extra that I got charged. And from my experience of working in retail, only the employees who are universally hated by the other employees for being a kissass and a general dick point out pricing errors in the customer's favour.

Today I was looking to buy a new snowboard deck. I took a few hours while I was in class to think about the purchase and wouldn't you know it the DC deck I wanted sold out while I was in class. I was also looking at a comparable Rome deck but was frustrated with the sell out...while looking at reviews of the Rome deck I found it at another online retailer for $40 less and better shipping rates. So yeah in a nutshell it was a good buy for me. 🙂

Usually they just give it to you at the lower price, I've never heard of getting the item for free. In some places this may actually be a bylaw. However most stores only enact such policy as good customer service practices, that is they don't have to by law. And usually it's only for 1 item, you can't have them all at the error price.

Nah you're fine. People just tend to be jackass millionaires with super model wives on here who use $100 bills for toilet paper etc etc 😀
