Lucid Dreaming

After reading this WikiBook, I'm considering trying it out. Seems pretty cool.

Has/does anyone here do it?

For those of you that do:

How often do you do it?
How long have you been doing it for?
Anything else you have to share?

Now with poll!

🙂

it's pretty cool...

edit: Have sex- multiple girls from your own fantasy world giving you pleasure in every way imaginable!! The excitement, or closing your eyes, can cause you to wake up.

yes. i have a lot of dreams that i am either being chased, getting shot at, drowning, etc and i let myself go and let it happen because i know it is a dream. I think it is my usbconcious letting things go in my mind. it is very empowering letting things go like that, it is a great release

I do it every night. No joke. Been doing it since I was six.

Not a Tom Cruise fan, but one of his best movies is Vanilla Sky.

Check it out.

I have similar dreams occassionally, but never really thought about controlling them.

/me can't wait to sleep tonight. 🙂

i think i can sort of do it, although i can't create the start of the dream.

for instance, i'll be having a dream and then i'll wake up. then i'll fall back to sleep and the dream will continue where i left off. from that point on i am able to sort of control what happens in the dream.

If I just fall asleep I won't lucid dream unless I have a nightmare, when that happens I take control and vanish what ever said scary thing is.

I can lucid dream if I fall asleep with the intent of lucid dreaming. I don't do it very often.

if i can do that.. i would never want to wake up lol

The dream that I have all the time is where I'm on a different planet. And I am standing next to a very tall tree. In the sky, there are three moons, green, orange, and blue. And the sky is also green. There are weird animals walking around and weird things flying. The tree is surrounded by incredibly vivid colors of flowers: bright purples, oranges, yellows, reds, pinks. The grass is so incredibly vividly green, too. I love going there.

However, on topic of this thread, I cannot control my dreams to my knowledge.

As an update to your edit, usually if I remember a dream, I've dreamt lucidly. I've been able to do it for as long as I can remember. I used to think everyone did it.

If I post photos of natalie portman over my bed will it make me dream of her?

Sub-Question: How often do you folks wash your sheets?

Most of the dreams I can remember are lucid. If I can't control them, I'm usually aware that its a dream [none of my dreams are out of the ordinary, set in normal places like school, home, maybe a theme park or something] and I wake up when weird sh!t starts happening. "You got a 100 on your History test!" "Lies..*poof*"

What's it called when you're awake but still can't move, that's scary, always happens to me when I fall asleep on airplanes or buses.
