Lucid Air gets a 520-mile EPA rating

If we adopt a wireless charging road system then we wouldn't ever have to worry about distance. Of course, we would then worry about big brother tracking us as we 'charge' down the road.
 
Lucid Air is looking very impressive. Telsa scrapped plans for 500+ mile range Model S. It might return in the future, but it's not a rush job, you need to be able to fit a new, denser pack. Roadster 2.0 is delayed and on the back burner.

Much higher priority for Tesla and it's battery supply is getting the Cybertruck out.

That is a dumb idea. Too expensive and high maintenance. Standardised quick change battery pack makes way more sense.
 
At face value the range number is impressive, but the battery pack chemistry doesn't make it any more efficient. Don't quote me, but I believe the pack is 30% larger than the S LR.

I'm curious to see if the Cybertruck is going to replace the Model Y as the golden child. $39k for an electric truck is pretty bonkers. Although I wonder if the excitement will fade after the first year of being a "unique" design...

No. It's really not.

It's an example of why politicians should have competent science/engineering advisors, to prevent wasting resources on completely impractical ideas.
