Is the Lucent Hydra Chip going to be available only in select Motherboards? Or will it be available as a seperate purchase which you can install onto or into your MB/PC as well?

They're working on the latter right now something with using interrconnects like HT or the new intel linking between CPUs for highspeed transfers.

Oct 31 is the official release of the Lucid chipset. they give u that information if you searched anandtechs review @ IDF about 6 weeks ago

man i'd love to see some numbers for scaling with the Hydra chip. will we really see 100% linear scaling with 2 identical GPUs regardless of game? one can only dream.
