If they lose it won't be SEC vs SEC in the championship game. Or at least I think it's that way because only two teams from one conference can go to BCS bowls right? And if Georgia wins they get an automatic BCS bid.

I'm an SEC homer and hope it's not an SEC vs. SEC championship game. Then again I don't think Oklahoma State deserves to be there either since their 1 loss is awful. LSU already beat Oregon so that really just leaves Virginia Tech or Stanford.

Damn it Boise, of all years to blow it. This was the year we could have finally seen them in the big game!

Yeah, I don't understand how a OK St that loss to an unrated opponent is higher ranked than a Stanford team that lost to a ranked opponent. The only thing I can think it could be is Stanford's strength of schedule.

Yeah, strength of schedule so weak that that Iowa St team that squeaked out a win over OSU at home would probably win the Pac-12 South this year. They barely beat USC, and never had a chance against Oregon at home. And we all know the computers love the Big 12

Actually, if LSU loses to GA and LSU and AL are 1-2 or 2-1 there will be three SEC teams in the BCS. The two team limit does not apply if the two NC teams are from the same conf and neither is the conf champ.

Of course, how much of a farce would the NC game be if both participants were from the same conference and neither one was the best team in the conference?

Conference champion != best team in conference
National champion != best team in country

Any given... Saturday

Same here, some other team should get a shot at LSU.

How about uh.... Houston? o_O

There is no way I would give Houston a shot over an Alabama rematch. Talk about guaranteeing a snoozer of a national championship game.

Unfortunately the Houstons' of the world will never get a shot until there is a playoff. I do think Boise would have had a chance to get to the big game this year but they finally lost and it just happened to be at the worst time.

You shouldn't have to analyze it. One word: PLAYOFFS.

The biggest reason I don't watch college football is the lack of a proper postseason tournament. At least my alma mater, I-AA powerhouse James Madison, has the playoffs going for it.

I-AA playoffs are on today, if I'm not mistaken. First round.

Our depth is amazing. What other team has 5 RBs that could start for any D1 team?

Yep I pretty much stopped watching it. I'll watch some of the big games because that's just what people do here but over the last few years I've grown to like the NFL much more. It seems like the more I like the NFL the less I like college football. The only real reason I can attribute this to is the lack of a playoff.

Here's an example. I was out watching the Baltimore/San Francisco game the other night. At the same time there was a Texas/Texas Tech game on TV. The only people who cared about the college game was a small group of Texas fans. Everyone else was watching the NFL game.

At one point I actually commented to a friend of mine that for a sport where people say 'every game is a playoff' I really couldn't care less who won the Texas/Texas Tech game. That's definitely a boring playoff.

That's because the UT/A&M game had no impact on the BCS bowls. The winner would have a shot to go to the meineke car care bowl vs the beef o'brady bowl. Whoop de fucking do.

I feel asleep during the SF/ravens game. What a snooze fest

But none of the bowl games even matter other than the national championship. It's all so stupid in college football. The SF/Ravens game may have been a snooze fest (I agree, it was pretty much a defensive struggle) the outcome at least mattered to something more than the Toilet Bowl.
