Lowest rated Oscars, probably because no one likes Whoopie Goldberg

I wouldn?t blame it all on Whoopie, I think for the most part people don?t really care about the Oscars anymore. I don?t watch any award shows they don?t seem to be very entertaining.

Someone else wrote the majority of her jokes for the Oscars. Saw it on Access Hollywood.
 
She wasn't funny for a comedian. I think Hugh Hefner should lend a few of his girlfriends to host the Oscar. They don't have to be funny or wear anything. I'm sure the rating would go up, for the American males anyway.
 
Whoopi Goldberg is a repugnant beast of a woman. You can put her in a $3000 designer outfit and she is still a repugnant beast of a woman. Oh, yeah, and she ain't funny, either.
 
Cant blame whoopie. Blame the lame-ass movies that were up for oscars. Blame the lame-ass actress who actually won. Blame the actor who won an oscar finally but should not have gotten it for this movie but for X. Blame the lame-ass candidates for best song. Monsters inc? Over Pauls GOOD song? Puhlease. Thank God we have the Golden Globes who actually know talent.
 
I think the month long hype over the best actor category and the whole "will she be the first black actress" turned many people off. After hearing about Russell Crowe for a month and whether that would hurt his chances, people probably figured it's just a popularity and hype contest. And then, maybe they tuned in anyway, and saw half an hour bloated, deplorable entertainment with no awards being given out and changed the channel.

Going till 1 in the morning didn't help anything either...at least not on the East Coast.
 
Yeah, don't blame the host (although I can't stand her).. Blame the terrible movies that get "nominated" and the fact that the network seems to feel the need to make the show almost 5 hours. Boring.
 
since it was so black (black host, tribute to sidney portier, etc) one can only conclude that denzel and halle winning was predeterminded. 🙂

 
You know, I've posted in about 4 of these Oscar threads and each one has been deleted within a day or two. So consider this the kiss of death. There's a lock-happy mod out there that's out for Oscar blood.
 
Im a big LOTR fan but didnt think it deserved any oscars at all. I thought AI should have gotten the effects oscar.

they are just looking to push the blame on something other then their precious overpaid stars themself. Yes you get a big audience but how many care ? Do the general people really care to watch the overpaid millionares be honored ? I sure dont.
