My current SATA cable prevents my GPU from going all the way down in the PCIE slot. Does anyone know of the lowest/slimmest 90degree SATA cable on the market?
When I say 90degree I mean 90degrees on one side and straight end is fine on the other. Thanks!
I've ordered right angle SATA cables from 3 different places. Every right angle connector was exactly the same.
IDK if your problem is just the height, or the connecting cable. Towards the bottom of this page, are right and left angle SATA connectors. If your problem is the cable after the 90, you may be able to wrangle one of these in there.
I ordered one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/...p?Item=N82E16812123198 I would replace all my cables so they are the same but this is an old rig with a newer video card so having the perfection of matching cables all around isn't a priority.
I put a 8800GT in my old rig to give it some life while I wait for my next upgrade (Vista64, 4GB, quadcore Bloomfield). It works fine, just that my only SATA ports are right below the video card. I'm thinking I'll have to grind away on one of the ends to lower it more.
The only other alternative is a PCIE SATA port card or unplugging the DVD drive or a HDD till I upgrade.
