Lower the Vcore...why?

Generally, the more voltage you run through a CPU, the more you decrease its life cycle. Run at the lowest stable voltage you can.

You earn extreme bragging rights unless you are working for a computer company. If the cpu runs successfully at a lower voltage, it is a good candidate for overclocking. It is a good thing even if you don't see lower temperatures. A better heatsink might reflect more sensitivity to applied voltage.

Heck, at least you can dabble with lower voltages. My new mainboard doesn't allow undervolting, only overvolting. Now, I'm depressed even though my Barton XP2500 is running as a Barton XP3200 on just stock voltage. On the other hand, Prime 95 can't make it get hot.

Do not discover that the horse given to you has no teeth until you take it home.

Well for now I can lower it to 1.3v with no problem....Prime 95 can barely make it reach 42C for the Heat Stress test running for 5 hours....

Quit bragging. 😀 😉

Well..I'm french canadian...didn't know the meaning of braggin until now......I'll be less dumb when I go to sleep tonight...thanks. 🙂

Is it possible to damage anything by lowering the Vcore too much? or it will just make my sytstem unstable...
Because I'm at 1.2v and still no stability problem....

LOL!

Damn boastful French Canadians! *shakes fist*

Seriously, you can't damage anything by continuing to lower the Vcore. You'll just have a much cooler chip than the rest of us.

1.15V and still holding....what's though is that the temp is up 2 C....from 42C to 44C....

Actually, after considerable thought, you need to send the chip to me for testing.

Sorry, I can't....what will I be bragging for if I do?....unless....you send me a FX-55 🙂

Just keeping you update...lowest stable Vcore is 1.150 V...but i'm keeping it at 1.2 v just to be safe...even if it runs prime95 stress test for 1 day at 1.15v with no problem.
