Question Lower Power Next Gen Graphics Cards?

Notice that every card in the Nvidia 2xxx and 3xxx generation are 160W+ TDP. Anyone who wants a card <= 150W has to settle for older silicon. Maybe nVIDIA is selling all their high-margin parts faster than they can make them, so there's no point in making low-margin parts. Fine. But is there anything new on the horizon from Nvidia or ATI for lower-power GPUs?

Typically lower power and performance parts come last in the product cycle. But it's getting worse as Turing and Ampere increased TDPs across the board two generations in a row.
Seems like an opportunity Intel should target.

As is the GTX 1660 Super is probably the best sub-150W GPU.

If you could get your hands on 3060ti/3070 you could reduce package power to 60% and be right or below your 150W limit. I undervolted my 3070 and reduced power package to 60% and I'm below 150W and only lose 100MHz on the core compared to stock. I reduced my power by 40% and only lost 5% performance.

For AMD we're all waiting for desktop N23 (6600 line) as well as N24 (6500 and 6300 line).

For NV we're still waiting for GA 107 (RTX 3050 series) and maybe a GA 117 (whatever will exist below the 3050).

We would all like to know when more of anything will be released...

I'm going to be in the same boat in a few years. I game on my TV with a HTPC, so I need a GPU that runs cool enough to fit in a home entertainment console. Right now I'm sat on a 1060 6GB, which is fine for 1080p gaming, but eventually I want to move to 4K... And it looks pretty sketchy.

3050 and 3050Ti should be sub 100W cards that should be coming out later this year

I have 144Hz monitor. Tried 4K but hardly any difference, to now I have it on 120.

I need low power as well as low profile graphic card. Anything with theses characteristics are either 2-4 year old entry level cards or are out of stock and priced at 2X MSRP. AMD and NVidia are upgrading the RAM to GDDR6 and repacking the card by calling them new names like "Super" after the old card names. LOL! These new name cards are 3-4X more expensive. Be sure to upload the new drivers for theses old cards too!

If the rumoured specs are right, this should be the best low-profile sub-75W card available. Even features AV1 decoding as a bonus.
