Lower Front Fan in EN 7237

I read where guys have installed a 120mm fan in the lower front of a 7237 case. I doesn't look like there is enough room. At best, it looks as though you would have to cut pretty close to the bottom latching mechanism for the front. I want to put in a 120mm if I can. Anyone been down this road?

Putting a 120mm fan in front yes will get in the way of the latching groove for the front brazel. What i did with mine to have a 120mm opening is i cut it higher, half way into the 3 1/2 internal drive bay. Better option most ppl have gone with is two 80mm side by side or two 92mm.

You can see pics of it here

I actully don't have a 120mm fan mounted inside my case i just have a 120mm opening, so i have a big open air for all my fans inside to suck from with no obstruction. You'd have to mount the 120mm fan on your chassie, if i wanted to mount one i can just drill 4 holes right there, and it wouldn't get in the way of snapping on the front brazel.

Hey Gizzo, what do you have covering the opening, that looks sweet. Is that a filter or grill or something?

Well that was temporary..ya thats a Alluminum Mesh Filter...i found one in black that looks alot better and its annodized! But then i switched it again to Square grid chickin wire and painted it allumium color, and painted one black..switch em around whatever i feel in the mood for 😛 I went without the filter cause my fans are very weak low noise fans and even with the smallest obstruction you can feel the presure is lower, so i just went with chicken wire and hosed my comp with an air tank every 6 months or so.

Sorry for the duplicate post. So, this was just a regular wire mesh filter like at 2cooltek? Where did you find the anodized one. I am getting a 7237, and was thinking of doing a mod just like this, but didn't know how it would look. Seemed pretty good to me.... 😀
