Ok, before I start, I KNOW that athlons can perform better than celerons.
I just want to know what's a good setup for a celeron 1.7/1.8/2.0, maybe a SiS chipset (or anything stable). Not purchasing now, maybe next few months. Just need some outlook. Memory will probably be ddr333(pc2700), because of the minimal price difference.
I'd rather go for something reliable, stable, low temperatures. I won't be playing any of the latest games, and probably not even the ones released last year (2002). Mostly for general use (word processing, mp3s) and broadband.
I just need something to last approx 3-5 years, like my current Pentium2/300 has (in fact, come this december it would've been 6 years!)
As I said, please, recommendations. This computer will be in relative's home, and they prefer Intel. I don't see what's wrong going for lower temp and stability.
