I'm thinking about building my own PVR/Mame/EMU set top kinda do it all box.

I want it to look nice though, more like an appliance than a PC.

I would like to use this case but the PCI slots are low profile.

I have found a good Chaintech low profile Geforce 4 MX 400 64 meg card I can use.

The TV tuner however ... there's this protech card that comes with a low profile adapter that would be possibly acceptable, its not a tuner though more like a video-in port, I'd have to use the VCR as a tuner.

Or theres the asus which looks like it will fit in a low-profile slot but doesn't show it comes with a bracket.

Has anyone put the asus card in a low-profile PCI slot?

There is a low profile TV card from LifeView, and the old ATi TV Wonder VE was too. And I faintly recall I've seen a low profile graphics card with TV-in recently ... might be a brain fluke though.

I'm not familiar with small form-factor cases, if that case accepts a standard back plate, the Asus TV 880 will fit without a problem. The PCB is only about 5/8 the height of the standard back plate size. You can see much better pics of the Asus at Newegg. Excellent IQ and software as well.

It doesn't accept a standard backplate, it accepts the half hieght ones, which is ok really if the card is small enough i can just modify the bracket myself. I would honestly rather have the asus card but I think it needs to be lower than 2.5" ... I can't tell in the picture if it might just be a little too tall...
