Low on memory

iam having problems with low system memory messages. My rig has 756 megs of ram. It looks like that the ram is ok. Sometimes when I start appz i get the message. I have real problems when I try to burn a cd. Right now I can not burn a cd. There are no buffer underrund messages. The cd can not finish it always stops at 99 % and show me some atapi flush errors. Need help plz.

does this usually occur after the computer's been on for a while? if it does, one of your apps may have a mem leak and is constantly using your memory even when you shut the prog off.

I run 98 se and it usually happens after the pc is on for a long time. The mobo is gateway. There is no way that i can burn a disk right now. It always stops at 99 %. I guess i will start removing some appz before i do a new format. The only problem is i can not back up to CDR. Thanks for the help.

Well when I write to cdr it has the following error messages:

TrackWriter error ASPI failure.

TrackWriter error Flush failed.

Cut back to 512MB memory then set your virtual memory to a static 256 or 512 for both minimum and maximum. See if that clears up your memory errors.

great info guys. I will try. But has this also to do with my problems writing to cdr and the above error messages.

Memory problems, if you do indeed have them, can affect just about everything you do on your computer.
