it works fine in battlefield bad company 2 but it's terrible in everything else. it is as low as 10 fps in games like left 4 dead and black ops. even my old 4870 got better than this

@ 2560x1600 4xAA 16xAF

lowest minimum fps for a 6950 is 51 fps.
If its any constoliation, 470 user, and lower, have much lower minimum fps than you.
You could always play at a lower resolution than 2560x + 4xAA + 16AF, if you need more min fps than that.

How do you get 10fps?

Do you play at 7000x2000 resolutions or something sick?
or do you have like a 1ghz cpu or something?

But Nvidia guys have better minimum fps.... probably in some games, but its not by huge amounts.

Assuming the rest of the system is up to par with the 6950, surely there's some software problem(drivers/games install). It's pretty obvious!

Did you have a fresh install when you swapped the cards? If not, did you run Driver Sweeper at least, to remove any traces of the old card?

Also try re-installing the games, one by one, checking them after each install and report back in a month once it's done :p

Check your settings, maybe you have Super Sampling/Edge Detect AA enabled?

IMO I don't think that a little AA would cause 10fps on a 6950 playing L4D.

Enable vsync
Then use Rivatuner D3D overrider to enable tripple buffering for dx games.
Then try it again
