Here is my system spec below. I can not figure out why my system is running at such a low FPS in the games. Kalonline is one, and when there is a lot of action, the game freezes, and the FPS in the game goes down to 0-5 range. It stays frozen for like 10 sec. I have reinstalled XP Pro several times. I have updated to the latest Nvidia drivers, and used driver cleaner. I have tried my old 6800 video card, same problem. I have the powersupply hooked up to the video card and shows no signs of being low in power. Friends with weaker systems do not have this problem, so I don't get it. I have a fast internet connection, 10meg down, 1 meg up at speedtest.net. Any help would be great.

This is a XPS 600 system with 2 gig of ram from Dell that is 2 years old now.

With nothing going on in the game, I get 200-250 fps, with a few things, 100-120 fps. Then when the big action happens, it goes to a crawl and locks.

I have V-Sync off, AP off, AA off for other info. Running the game in 1024x768 and everything on low.

sounds like a network problem more than likely, I don't know how you are running that high of framerates when the most a human can realistically process is 66FPS.

to verify the video card is functioning properly download and run Aquamark3d.

I have a feeling it's a network issue and the games lockup when partial info is sent or received. the video card is fine, who's your ISP?

How could it be a network issue, when it happens only during intensive game graphic times? Like mages storming....

because you said it's only when you're playing online games you're having the issue.

1. who is your ISP?
2. do a tracert and ping on www.bbc.co.uk, and report back the results.

124ms kinda high pings, I'm on a slow dsl and I average around 110 at most. you have a network issue somewhere outside of your control.

Your bandwidth isn't going to affect the speed of something as small as a ping (default 32bytes) unless it's incredibly small. Yours and his are more than enough so it's not related to that.

Depending on your graphs card will judge your FPS. And also the the host or engine controlling
the graphs eg: EA, Node, etc, Some games need for you to spend time on the in game vid settings for your system to be happy.

While in game " ~ $::real showaudio; should show all things for you.

OMG 124>110 thats high LOL I play at 50>70 ping and even i work for lower ping. I guess the subject maybe he is playing on the wrong servers. Have you filtered out the higher pings?

NO disrespect intended.

I've already ruled out the grpahics card, if you will note roguestar, and the pings were to see how long it takes him to reach a site he probably doesn't go to that often, I wanted to see if it's slow, and it is. he has a network issue somewhere, I'd suggest he contact TW and have them check his signal levels and noise.

This game is Kalonline and the servers are in Korea. I am in Texas. There is no selectable servers. And I know as well that Ping has little to do with FPS and lag like this in the game. It is a hardware issue of some type I know that much.

When I adjust the game down to 800x600 it runs much faster and the lag is almost eliminated. But since it's too small for me to run in that mode, I have to bump it back up to 1280.

I have checked signal levels and noise with TW. Even had them out here fixing my lines. So then I bumped it up to Premium speeds. No help. My ping is normal anywhere in the US, but when you go overseas, yes it's going to be higher.

it's not hardware, pings do relate to lag times and influence frame rates on online games.
I bet HL2, and onther SP games play fine don't they?

Like I said, I don't play any other online games. If you know of another free one I can try and let you know the outcome I can. Why is my 3dMark06 score so low then?
