I just bought a P4 2.4C computer with a Gigabyte 8IPE1000 board. I overclocked it to 3.0GHZ, but the CPU temperature seems unbelievely low. I use Easy Tune 4 to monitor my temp and it says currently my CPU is only 66 F (19 C). I know it's late at night and that might have help, but on warm days it never goes above 74 F. I normally use my computer for watching movie files, mp3s, and internet. The AMD T-bird 1400 I replace, I did pretty much the same things and the CPU temp would normally be around 130 F and I even had a very loud expensive all copper fan (It was top of the line a year ago) for it too (P4 has a stock fan). My new P4 case is bigger, has 3 case fans also and better circulation. While my old AMD had only that CPU fan.
The Bios for my Gigabyte 8IPE1000 is from 08-01-03, so it's pretty recent. I think that there must be some bugs with the board. The temp seems too good to be true. I hope it's true!
Is there a software that can give me more accurate temps of my 865PE board? I haven't had a Pentium since OG Pentium 200. I have heard of peeps getting there CPUs to very low temps, but I didn't do anything special to mine.
