... unless the synthetic benchmark results are indicitive of real world gaming performance. You might also get the 10% increase games you are currently playing; but you have to do that testing for yourself. For me I use the drivers which give me the best performance in whatever game is my "flavor of the month". If there is no noticable image quality difference... go with whatever gives you more frames per second.

That's the most annoying thing with ATI... driver swapping gets old fast.

They did more that gain points in the benchmark, they also cleared up some issues I was having with games, and also improved performance in games. If new drivers were being developed that only gave improvements in benchmarks, then the people writing the drivers are the retards.

I'm currently am running a Leadtek 6800 on a athlon 64 3200+ on a DFI Lanparty Nforce3 250gb. I'm also using the WinFast Driver and WinFox that the VGA came with. However when i run 3dmark2005 i get a poor score of a bout 2600, and not only that but there are lots of screwed up images, especially in the faerie foreset test.

The forest terrain is all messed up, and in the flying blimp with water creature (first test) part of the captains face was black when he turned to look at the dragonwater thingy. Anyone have suggestions?

Yes i know 3dmark is a synthetic test, however if it can't even run the test properly (my 9600Pro i returned atleast ran without any screwed up images and I got about 1600) the images look as if I overclocked something really bad and the images produced are not right.

Edit: Yeah now that i updated to the 61.77 available on nvidia's site it has errors even in Game 1 test 1, the scene of the guy shooting the machine gun as the garage door opens becomes a bunch of solid lines.

does my vid card need Rma? or... should i get the unofficial drivers and test that.

Another update... now that i updated to 61.77 the score for my 6800 (by ignoring weird renders in 3dmark2005) is 1700. This is basically my 9600 Pro... without 61.77, and using leadtek winfast drivers i got 2600 with some graphic image errors, now with 61.77 more graphic image errors and now a score of 1700.

Need urgent help please =/... I already returned the 9600 Pro for not running perfectly, but now this 6800 seems to have more problems in ratio to price, it was 390 on sale.

I also have the same problem, Radeon 9800 Pro 128 on a A64 3200+ only 2300 =/

effee: the 9800 on stock only scores in the 2000s+. The 9800 xt can get higher 2000s and maybe low 3000s if overclocked. Which aren't that bad considering this is a previous video card, btw these are general stats not exact ones that i'm estimating.

However after i got 66.70 for my 6800, i no longer have graphic errors, and i get a score of 3200. Is this about right now? Without 66.70 everything is screwed. However why do i need an unofficial driver to be able to run my 6800 properly =/.

It could be a settings issue? I was getting 1300 before till I played with my ATI control center settings and put it to app pref. Then i got 2300s.. Also, after OC a little I got 2400s on my 9800pro
