Low 3DMark03 score?

I'm wondering if something is wrong because I have:

A64 3200+
Asus K8V SE Deluxe
1GB Corsair PC3200 Value RAM
9600 Pro 256MB

everything is at stock, I'm running the 4.6 catalysts, newest chipset drivers and 2nd to newest BIOS version and my score:

2779 :| whats wrong? I've seemed to have noticed that even the slightest gfx OC can boost like 800 points.

reasons I'm worried:

my friend's old computer (2.6P4 400FSB, 768 SDRAM, and a 9500 Pro) got like 3,400 and I know a guy who got like 3500 with an AMD 1.3GHz CPU, 768MB PC2100 RAM, and a 9600 Pro 128MB OCed to 398/400 (stocks at 398/200) and that shows me that that little OC boosted his score alot.

heh...when I ran it on this machine, I got a whopping score of 168 😛

I don't know the answer to your problem though 🙁

That's just the score a 9600 should get. They're not very powerful cards IMO. A 9800Pro will usually score 4000-5000. To me your score is in line with that.

yes everything is installed and i'm not using the 4.9's cause they're real screwy. The make ATI crash and give me weird stalls.

what about aa. is it on. if it is turn it to application preference. that should boost score. took mine from about 3000 to 5000 with 9800pro.

Umm when i had 9600 128BIT 128MB Saphire card i did get 4100, now with 9800 overclock upto you can see in my signature can get 7000.
And 3010 in 3DMark05. Make sure you have 128BIT 9600pro.

4100 on a 9600?....

no, for my graphics properties I have the little slider under the "Direct3D" tab set all the way to the peformance side. And I don't think going from 4.6's - 4.9's is gonna give me 700 points. I did try it with the 4.8s one time and it was only like a 20 point difference.

how do I tell what bit it is? This isn't my card. My friend is letting me use this 9600 until I can get enough $$$ for my 6800GT
