I recently bought a Diamond MX300 sound card off of the FS/T and it's great. I don't plan on going to XP so no driver worries. I can now actually hear WHERE people are coming from in Half-Life! Haha! Yay!

IIRC, the Audigy doesn't support EAX2, even with driver enhancements, and the Audigy2 does. That's about the extent of the differences.

cheap ass soundcard+modem-->AWE 64-->Live-->went back to the AWE64 because it was better-->Acoustic Edge.

Why hasn't anyone written some sort of a3D wrapper/driver than can take advantage of the Live/Audigy hardware and emulate a3d for older games (like Half-Life?) Actually, why hasn't creative done this since buying out Aureal?

So EAX still has not reached the level of directional sound A3d had? That's pretty sad.

The hilarious thing is that EAX 3.0 was talked about back in what, 1999? You'll notice it never was implemented for the Live!

I suppose my GTXP will do for now. At least my speakers are still better than average

I'm a huge fan of my turtle beach sound card.

I will only switch when something comes out that sounds alot better than it, and I don't think thats going to happen for a couple of years at least.
I like it so much more than SBLIVE hopefully one day Creative will get some people to sort out their driver issues instead of basically beta testing them when they release them.
