Love is ...

Love is patient, kind, truthful, unselfish, trusting, believing, hopeful, and enduring.

Love is not jealous, boastful, arrogant, rude, selfish, or angry.

How did giddy infatuation and sexual desire manage to take over?

🙁

Because what people think is love, really is not love.

A great reply. Thanks for participating.

... but I wonder, isn't Love much more than a feeling. After all, feelings are transitory and will often change based on circumstances.

Would you agree that Love is much more than this?

It seems to me that Love is the promise to be patient, kind, compassionate and unselfish, even when I don't feel like it. That's when you really show somebody how much they mean to you.

Love is ... taking a nasty dump while your spouse is brushing their teeth at the same time ... and nobody cares 😀

You're wise beyond your years. Do you practice it as well as you preach?

I am sorry if I came off as preaching or judgemental. That wasn't the intent.

I am not sure that I could ever hope to live up to the standard. My hearts desire is for my children to learn about Love from the way they see me treat their mother, my wife, as well as the way I treat them.

love is indecribable. but yeah you are right about saying love is being patient, kind and compassionate even when you don't feel like it. i agree with that definately 🙂 but love is a lot more that that even. its just there. the feeling that you don't want to be with anyone else. the feeling of security.

Interesting, but I might be confused.

I may be reading something into your reply that isn't there. It occurs to me that saying A) unconditional [and] B) it takes two in the same statement could be percieved as being somewhat contradictory.

If I choose to Love unconditionally, then I will do this even if that Love is not reciprocated.

heck love is confusing too ... "it takes two" doesn't necesarily mean it's reciprocated 😉
