what does this do?
is 1.57 within Intel's Spec?

edit: i just tried the same LinX test and the system restarted again even with 1.57v CPU PLL.

help?

I'm out of ideas. Maybe keep fooling around with the ram, ram voltage to 2.1, change mult. to 9x433, etc. You may have just reached the limit on that chip.

^^ i used the template, you can use the same template as me, just change the numbers from mine to yours =)

yea i'm going to back down to 8x450 (3.6ghz) and see if i can get that to not reset under heavy load from linx.

its very weird, with my experience, occt has always told me that my cpu was stable at any given speed.
p95 has lasted 18+hours before restarting and never found an error.
linX has never given me any errors
i never see a bsod before restarting during stability testing.

so my CPU is probably stable, but i just can't get it to NOT RESTART. and with my experience, auto restarting means its not enough voltage somewhere... right?

Yes, (G)MCH Frequency Latch on Auto.

Use 2.00D for system memory multiplier.

Try that first, and see if it helps. I bet the 2.00D will stop the instant reboot.
=================
Like I mentioned above, the MCH on auto just lets it be set by the system memory multiplier so that way you only have to adjust one setting instead of trying to keep track of 2.

2.00D you want because it is the 400Mhz strap. After you're stable you can explore other multipliers/straps. See my previous post for which letter corresponds to which strap.
=================

AFTER you've tried the 2.00D and (G)MCH Frequency Latch on Auto, if you're still getting restarts/errors/BSDs THEN try giving CPU Termination a few more volts. Go up a couple of steps at a time, don't exceed 1.5v

CPU PLL should be either 1.5 or 1.57. I'm not sure what that does, but most threads on the internet have one setting or the other.

Stop using 8x.

You have a 9x multi; use it.

For testing max CPU, keep FSB as low as possible.

Sure, if the max for CPU is the same @ 8x & 9x, then use 8x.

Till then, stick with 9x.

Nice rig Lou.

Your VID is lower than mine, I would expect results similar to mine (+/- a few mhz).

thanks for the complement acanthus

yea, but i set my own max voltage limite to 1.5vCore and 2.0 on the ram. i've had too much ram die @ high voltage and dont feel the need to push my Q6600 that high. i tried getting stable at 3.8ghz @ 1.5vCore in bios, but couldn't so im' back at 3.6 now @ 1.45vCore
