You're not paying attention. I objected to this-

That's unsupportable bullshit.
.

What you so casually dismiss is just a different take on the same thing. From one of the articles at my link:

"For nearly two decades, when Chicago’s police brought people under arrest to their detentions and interrogations warehouse, not even the vast majority of the police force knew where they were, according to an internal memo acquired by the Guardian.

Homan Square, a warehouse complex headquartering narcotics, vice and intelligence units for the Chicago police, has also served as a secretive facility for detaining and interrogating thousands of people without providing access to attorneys and with little way for their loved ones to find them. Records documenting the presence of someone at Homan Square, especially while they are there, have existed largely outside Chicago police’s electronic records system.

Now, documents and evidence from senior officers have for the first time disclosed detailed official accounts of how police based at the unit were able to operate – and how it was almost impossible to tell who was being held inside.

How did I embellish any part of that article?

I mean, it's not like you don't have a history of blatantly lying in regarding cops and their actions. You did it just a few days ago.

And? How did he embellish the article?

I didn't say he did. I simply stated that he has been known to lie, about cops and their actions, and has an obvious anti cop agenda. Hard to take anyone like that at their word when they will flat out lie as he has before. Main topic being the same. Zero credibility for me on any of his posts since.

The point being contended regarded a claim of embellishment on his part in the op of this thread. That's the point that you chose to address. Did he or did he not embellish the article? Any thoughts on that? Any thoughts on what the article itself details?

The point was he was acting like he would never lie or embellish in his response, which he certainly has before. I called him on it. Don't like it? Too bad.

The idea that large police forces are somehow less likely to go outside the law than small ones is ludicrous. The belief that abuse of authority is infrequent and purely attributable to bad apples is incredibly naive. There will NEVER be the type of evidence that you are willing to accept because, it is in no one's best interest to provide it. I believe you've either had little or no contact with police around the country or, are simply being disingenuous.

The notion that every large city operates like the Chicago PD is based on thin air. You can't just point to them & give us the "They're all the same!" song & dance.

None of it excuses strip searching & locking up mere witnesses, fer crissakes. That's a very special kind of assholery.

Dude, the argument before was no big city would have issues like the op's article. Now it's, well, all the other big cities don't operate like that one big city. Sorry, it's all part and parcel of the same systemic breakdowns in the legal system that seem to be happening all over the US.

How many big cities has the DOJ investigated in, say, the past 10 years for shit like this and the Chicago horror show? I recollect that it's at least 21.

The American justice system has some serious systemic breakage/dysfunction that needs to be addressed. And addressed soon.

Nothing to add to this thread about this issue then?

Do I agree with detaining people and just riding them around? No. I just wanted to out him as a liar again. Since he runs away when it happens. He started off the thread with anti police rhetoric and race baiting like always. Then went into a entire post of insults and name calling. Title of the thread is about an amendment, I'm using my first in posting. Again, don't like it? Too bad.

Funny I don't see you defending everyone else who has someone post something not 100% on topic in their thread. But I am sure he appreciates you defending him, no matter if he is a race baiting liar.

Not sure why but you seem to want to make this personal. I would have thought that the issues being raised were more worthy of discussion. Apparently, for you, they aren't. Have a nice evening.

I told you why I replied, his part of the post I responded to. Like he should always be taken at his word, because he would never ever embellish. As if. But yeah, I am done talking about it. He's a proven liar, and doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. Thanks, enjoy yours as well.
