Louisiana bill to limit stripper weight

That's just wrong. If a guy wants to see fat chicks strip, he should be allowed to see fat chicks strip. Why not just let the bar decide, if an establishment put on nothing but overweight girls and advertised that they might be successful. There are a lot of guys out there with a lot of weird tastes.

Is it a safety issue? Maybe the lawmakers are afraid the poles are not strong enough.

The amendment also included a requirement that the stripper be no more than 28 years old. The amendment was removed before the bill was passed.

I can only hope that they were going for some kind of irony or other sort of non-sincere motivation.

Rep. Kenneth E. Havard proposed an amendment that would also also limit employees to be "between twenty-one and twenty-eight years of age and shall be no more than one hundred and sixty pounds in weight."

This is the kind of sexism I can support.

I was thinking I'm surprised the amendment didnt limit age to under 30, but I see the Senator thought of that: between 21 and 28 years old, and no more than 160lbs. Well, I guess I dont blame him for thinking it, but attaching his name to the bill then withdrawing just makes him a documented pervert and coward. haha

I would think a politician on the right would think the market will dictate whether there should be 160+lbs and/or 30+yo strippers.

I'm not sure I'd find a girl over 160 lbs attractive, but this law is a bunch of shit. If people want to see overweight strippers, more power to them.

From what I gather from an LSU forum I visit he did it as a "joke" to mock over regulation. Louisiana politics.. 😛

Yes, in a perfect world it would be a clever passive-aggressive way of protesting a bill that you didn't like, but were sure was going to pass anyway. Do a parody of the bill within the bill. But I would never give a politician credit for having the brains and balls to do something like that. It was more likely that some numbskull saw the bill, didn't bother to read/understand it and only took away from it the idea that it was outlawing old strippers. Then he thought "Great!! No fat chicks either!!".

it's already legal if you call them models who strip

😀

Strippers are unpaid contractors in fact I believe most pay to work, essentially when hiring one you can discriminate in any way you please.

After reading the article this amendment is a poison pill from the clubs that want to serve alcohol and hire strippers under 21. Smart and funny move.
