I support their right to free speech.
That said, I also support the rights of people who disagree to peacefully (and loudly) counter-protest.

There was a thread here a while back about this group. They are real life trolls. It's a family of lawyers that basically make their living igniting people into doing something stupid/technically illegal and then suing them. Their entire existance is make money off of emotional reactions and the whole church thing is nothing more than a very effective front.

They were protesting something down in Mississippi(?) for a dead soldier's funeral and the town basically blockaded them into their hotel. Nobody said a word about anything to the police. While I agree with their right to do their thing, I'll glady turn a blind eye to any non-violent sort of resistance to them. Hell, for that matter, I would probably turn a blind eye if somebody accidentially stopped their fist with a WBC's member's face.

I think they have a right to say what they want.

I don't think they have a right to say what they say at funerals and have it not be covered under "fighting words". In other words, I think if a family member of one of those dead soldiers broke a few noses, they should not be charged with assault.

Also, I think a lot of these sorts of problems would be solved by bringing back legal, regulated dueling.
