LOUD music... is it worth it?

sometimes at work i need to go to some building which is a huge server room that is DRONING loud and i didn't even think about wearing earplugs until 6 months ago. i used to walk out of that place w/m y ears ringing. this thread is a good PSA to people who value their hearing
 
My ears are permanently damaged from concerts and loud music as a teenager/20 something. I can tell you from experience, damaged ears/hearing sucks.

seriously. im not usually a super-loud music type, but sometimes its great and nothing can beat a room full of awesome loud music when its what youre in the mood for.
