Lotus Notes Database question on dropdown boxes.

I am trying to do almost a database within a database.

The backround: Building a database with all the comapies I get computer parts from in lotus notes. I have a single drop down box for part type currently. basicly, one for "video cards" and one for "mainboards" etc. What I want to do is add another drop down box for vender name. In other words, when I put in a new record for "mainboards" I want the next drop down box only have selections for mainbaords, such as Iwill, Asus, etc. Right now, I just have a list of just about every vender, and when I select "mainboards" I will also get video cards, sound cards, etc. and I have to search through the whole mess to find asus mainboards.

Is there a way to automaticly filter these? Or am I stuck doing it this way?
