lots of lag with LAN on win XP?

Didnt know where to post this, so i posted it here. Anyways:


Whenever I goto workgroup view, it takes about 2 minutes for it to show anything, and the 2 mins it has an hourglass. When i try to go into the work group it does this again, and then again whem i get into the specific computer on the network.

It has done this before, with 2 different nics and different computers on the lan.

my winME machine doesnt do this at all, it loads everything instantly.

Is there something that im missing? Im thinking that some sort of authentication is enabled that makes it lag alot.

There is a registry key you must delete. I happen to hate XP so I have no clue as to which one it was. But that is what you need to do.

Maybe this?, although it's for Win2K and I do NOT see the key in XP. CORRECTION -- I do. I was under current user not Local Machine... I hate it when that happens!
