It has been said quite a few times that the DVD's will come out 6 months after the release of the movie. I dunno about the trailer but look for it this summer prolly attached to some of the "blockbuster" type of movies.

Tolkien's purpose, according to himself, was to write a very very long story.
One of the things that make this work so great is the length.
To increase the pace and shorten the story actually changes the tone quiet a bit.
I suppose it might be possiblr for folks who made LOTR, to do a pretty good Hobbit, with very little having to be cut out.

in the making of on mtv, they used alot of camera tricks + boxes and stuff to boost ganalf or they told frodo to get on his knees (shut up perverts, i know what you're thinking)

I don't know about you, but I'm waiting to buy the DVD until the Special Limited Collector's Edition Trilogy Boxed Set comes out in 2004.
