I guess I don't live in a nerd town...theater was barely half full...personally fotr was way better...was peter jackson just lucky with it? maybe...the fotr extended version has terrible editing...very slow... and TTT had way too much story to fit in 3 hours...and didn't anyone think it was noisy as f*ck? yeah there were battles but the audio(sound effects) were terrible.

question: did john reese davies(sp?) who played the gimly also voice treebeard? sounded too much alike.

helms deep battle was good but not the as good as hyped..
gollum was surpisingly good especially how they handled his 2 personalities...no one was excited about it when they were leaving...

I think you bent your wookie too many times to say the sound effects sucked..... it must have been your theater. Everybody that was there when I saw it was excited about seeing the next ome.

Just saw it today and I think it rocked. Too much movie to take in one shot. I am going to have to see it again and get a bigger bag of popcorn. It will come close to the $100 million for five days. I saw the 2:30 show and it was 2/3 full. All of the night shows starting at around 6 were expected to show out. This was on Thursday. Wednesday was a mad house and I couldn't find a ticket anywhere.

I hope this movie crushes Titanic.

Yes, Treebeard was also voiced by John Rhys-Davies. That's why they sounded similar :)
