LOTR trilogy theater screening tickets going for $400+/pair on eBay - WTF

what a freakin' waste of money. Buy the DVDs (heck you could even but a new DVD player) watch them at home, then get a normal ticket for ROTK.

Hmmm, seeing all three on the big screen would be cool, but only under the following circumstances:

1) You got decent seats without having to wait in line for two days. Unless I was sitting in the middle of the row it would suck.

2) You got lunch/dinner/bathroom breaks. During this time you could leave the theater (rather than pay $12 for a movie 'meal') and then come back for the next movie.

3) During this time, no idiot could forgo his break time and jack your good seats.

4) You didn't have to pay $400.

😛

Trilogy Tuesday tickets in our area sold out in 10 minutes.

No doubt - that's pretty much the ultimate hot deal for those who can cash in on insane resale prices.

Two tickets would have cost me $18, could have easily sold them for $300 on eBay!

$#@!

Damn it...I should have tried harder for tickets and then just made some money on them. I gave up after an hour or so of trying and getting nothing but busy signals....

man got some crazy freaks out there who'd pay that amount for a movie. just wait the extra day for the nation wide release...sheesh

This website run by AMC shows that there are still tickets available in the Miami/Ft. Laud area for purchase. They are going for $30/pop there, though. I'd consider buying a couple myself for ebaying, but I'm too lazy to go get my cc. 😛

It is not an extra day, more like two hours in advance of the national.

I did think of this when I bought my tickets but I decided not to be a scumbag scalper. 😛

I would have gladly become a SCUMBAG SCALPER but you already knew this 🙂

I resemble that remark! 😛

Actually, I already traded one pair for a pair of excellent Panthers game tickets (Titans come to town this weekend.)

Cool! Did you get the ones at Raleigh Grand? I got a pair but I've given them to a couple for their wedding present (they are a couple of the biggest roleplaying geeks.)

Also - what the heck? 11 hours to watch all of them in a row? My ass and those captain's chair at the theater don't have enough padding for all that. Plus - how much is expected to lay down for food the whole day? $60/couple?

Sheesh.. $400 for a pair of tickets. Those tickets better come with free BJ's while you are watching the movie.
