Electric Amish, that's cool. :) Do you get to reserve which seats you want?

It does, and I just found out that in fact boxing day is the absolute earliest, but I may have to wait until the 28th.

Hmmm...I've had no success using either moviefone or movietickets.com to get tickets - amish, you were able to search for a theater in your area that had showtimes listed?

No, it's a special deal that was finegalled by some people from theonering.net. They convinced a local theater to offer a midnight showing if they bought a certain number of tickets.

They did and we're in! :D.... and we'll be on TV, exposed as the nerds that we are! ;)

Dah^2!

We are approaching the 2 week mark, so I would expect theaters to start talking about advance ticket sales pretty soon, but so far I haven't found anything...

Where are you located Amish?

Damn, why isn't AMC selling tickets yet?? :(

Interesting, the LOTR is now the #1 requested movie on moviefone.com. Not bad for a movie that won't be released for another two weeks yet.

Forget that, I'll wait a week or 2 when I can get good seats without having to yell at some trolls behind me to shutup and quit kickin the seat :)

You can actually wait 2 more weeks? :Q

BTW...the only people at the first shows will be die hard LOTR fans (as they will have all pre-ordered their tickets)...at least this will be the case in my theater. For most of the shows, people will NOT be able to simply line up on opening night because the tickets are already sold out. The theater will be silent because it's all hardcore people. :)

Most of the theatres here are gonna sell the tickets 5 days in advance.

$13 each!!

Wow!!

After the midnight showing gets over, ~3 to 3:30 am, we'll have just enough time to get in line for the first showing of the day! :)
