I still say that Star Wars is the greatest trilogy because the stories were all original.

LOTR are by far the better movies, I admit this, but I still put Star Wars up above them.

one BIG thing was the interaction with the carachters. LOTR had great acting, but Star Wars had some of the best chemistry between the actors that Ive ever seen.

Star Wars (and not this PM, Attack of the Clones garbage), the original trilogy. Jackson adapted books, Lucas did not. Star Wars had heroes that you wanted to be, LOTR has Aragon the everyman hero and Legoias but neither of them could hold a candle to Luke Skywalker.

Saw ROTK last night and I wasn't as enthused about it as most of the people here on ATOT seem to be.

Agreed. The LOTR trilogy pales in comparison with the Star Wars original trilogy.

The success of star wars still amazes me, ANH only opened in 37 theaters.. rotk..7,000+...

SW gets my vote...it's a ride you can go on over and over..lotr I get bored by the 3rd viewing. Already sold my dvd's off.
