There's a $1.99 order charge & a $.99 shipping charge and you can't order it for in-store Pickup :disgust:

I'll think wait.....
Someone always has it on sale sooner or later.
I picked up Harry Potter for $9.99 at CompUSA

If they want to stop Piracy, they just need to keep the prices down.
I never rent movies, if I want to see the movie I buy it, but @ $25 it has to be a pretty good movie.
At $10 a DVD, if I'm even slightly interested in seeing the movie I'll just buy it.

Just look at music CD's
Cost of making CD's has gone way down, quality of the music has gone down even more :disgust:
Yet the print of CD's keep going up !
When blank CD's are 10 cents, what do they expect is going to happen ?

The real question is what's more profitable ?
Selling a small number at high prices, or selling tons at a low price.
I always prefer the later :D, as do most people, just look at Broadway, Bullocks, etc. vs Walmart.

Just go test drive a Kia, and you'll have a free copy of the two-disc set. I might do that, but I'm really waiting for the November release of the extended version.

It figures it'd be Kia offering the free DVD set! What the heck would I want to drive there? lol

I'm not sure if this is in every area, but for those of you that rent movies, either frequently or occasionally, BlockBuster has a pretty good promo going for LotR. For $24.99 you can get a 10-week rental card, good for one rental of any VHS or DVD per week for 10 weeks, and you get your choice of either P&S or WS LotR on DVD free on August 6th. You end up saving at least $1.50 on each rental vs. regular rental price (for new releases anyway) and you get LotR! They have this deal in Cleveland where I am but I am not sure about the rest of the country.

Thats also true, but then again someone you know may see you behind the wheel of a Kia. j/k don't want to offend any Kia owners out there. :D

Just an FYI...

The $10 coupon won't apply to the purchase of the LOTR DVD. They will email you a code for use on a future purchase -- the very near future, that is. It will probably only be valid for a couple of weeks.

It's still a good deal though. I got a similar deal when pre-ordering Ocean's 11.

threads like these annoy me ... LOTR is NOT 9.99. its 19.99 and you get a free $10 to spend on something else. of course ... unless you happen to find something for exactly $10, you end up spending MORE money (lets say on another dvd which may run around $15). so in fact you end up spending maybe around $25 and get 2 dvd's .. one of which HAS to be LOTR. $25 for 2 dvd's is no where near the same deal as 9.99 for one.

Not to b_tch, but i am .. hehehe.

Anyways .. THANKS for the heads up!

I ordered this back on 7/16 for a price of 19.99 + tax (free shipping) and they
are to send a $10 email on 8/5 or 8/6.

I was planning on giving the 2 disc LOTR to my nephew for his bday and apply the $10
for the 4 disc November pre-order for me. you cant preorder the November set now and
get the $10 email, thats only for the 2 disc version.

nice to see the price drop - I had a $5 coupon so it was 16.29 initially, now its 12.29.:)

I've read somewhere before, that the August release is going to have special features exclusive to the august release, and nov release has special features exclusive to the nov release...

Is this true, or was I dreaming of reading this?

You gotta love a company that keeps lowering your cost before they send the item.

6/26 original order for LOTR $14.37 (after applying $10 digital coupon)
07/03 order changed to eliminate shipping - now $11.39
07/30 order changed for lower price of $15.99 - new total $7.39

AND I get another $10 coupon so I can start the process al over.:)
