I've never read the book and I hadn't seen the movies until this week. I wasn't feeling well on Wednesday so I called in sick to work and decided to pop in the FOTR DVD my boss lent me a couple weeks ago. I was completely sucked in to this story. I immediately watched the second episode (Tivo recorded it for me a couple months ago and I deemed it worthy to save-thankfully) and I picked up the last one ROTK Friday at Costco on my way home from work. In fact, I picked up the extended versions of the first two and I've already watched disk one of the FOTR.

My wife thinks I'm nuts and my son is probably scared for life from what he's seen of it but I'm completely hooked on it.

Best movies I've seen in many many years.

I have the book and I'm feeling very compelled to pick it up and start reading it now.

Books are still better, imo, but I did enjoy the movies as well.
Books are always better than the movies.

Sometimes they come close, but.. nothing beats the human imagination. ;)
