LOTR II By Dave Barry

This is hilarious!

It exaggerates every reason it's not going to win best picture. 😀
Yeah some depressing Artsy Fartsy Lesbian movie like "The Hours" probably will or maybe they'll cater to the Hollywood Male Homo crowd and give it to "Chicago"

Or possibly a movie that's just better made?

It is possible for there to be a movie better made that isn't filled with effects and action.

I never thought you to be a LOTR fanboy, Red.

I was JUST about to post that in the SNL thread. I love Dave Barry's column.
I HAD to post it. I almost split a gut reading it in the paper.

I wonder how much thought he really puts into this stuff? I bet that's like a second draft. 20 minutes work and he collects his pay. Nice!

I never thought I was either.

In a few hours, I will journey to Zion Big Screen theater at the entrance to Zion National Park to see Two Towers for the first time. I hope that on this massive screen with surround sound, it will be worth the effort. Is it a 3 hour movie? I need to know how much food to bring.😉

LOL
GANDALF

Let?s have a smoke.

AUDIENCE

I was gonna go research the Ring

But then I got high.

I was gonna destroy the bloody thing

But then I got high.

Now the world is in imminent danger

And I know why.

Because I got high, because I got high,

Because I got high.

FRODO: UH-oh! The movie is over, and I still have this darned ring! Do you realize what that means?

SAMWISE: That ''Weasel Feet'' would be a good name for a rock band?

FRODO: Yes, as would ''Kung Fu Trees'' and ''Combat Alfalfa.'' But my point is that the forces of Evil have been let loose upon the land, which means soon there will be...

SAMWISE: No! Not that!

FRODO: Yes. Another sequel.

MONSTERS: Arrrrrr.

😀

I didn't bring enough food, but it was OK. I'll know next time.😉

I am amazed. That screen is the largest in Utah, 80'x60' and the movie was beyond my expectation. I love the story, and the metaphors on life, but what is so dramatic is the technology to create the characters, such as that talking forest and that creature ,and OMgoodness, the evil army hordes. The technology wasn't near as dramatic in the first episode, so I can only imagine what we are in store for in the final episode.
