I believe they can fit 4 hours on one disc but you have to flip the disc (I think its DVD-18?). Which is basically the same as 2 discs, since you need to get up off your coushy couch and manually flip/change the disc. If you that worried about it, just get a 5 disc changer and then you can watch 5 movies all at once!
EDIT: More info re: DVD-18 shamlessly ripped from

DVD-9 Single Sided, Dual Layer

DVD-18 Double Sided, Dual Layer both sides
Well, technically, the DVD-18 technology is called "glue". And it doesn't work very well. We may have seen our last DVD-18's already. They're notoriously suseptable to errors in reproduction and can only be made at a few facilities. It's much easier and cheaper to manufacture 2 DVD-9's instead and you end up with a 2-disc set that sounds much more attractive to the consumer, anyways. Except for Warner, which has stubborly clung to the snapper, there is no reason a studio would want to release a movie on a single disc rather than a 2-disc set (and even Warner has gotten a clue with multi-disc sets of Citizen Kane, Dr Zavagho and the 5 upcoming sets in the wings).
