LOTR destroying the ring question

how come they cant just put the ring onto that bird/or moth that saved thewizard and then make it drop it ( or do a kamikazi rush ) into that fire pit? 😛

Well, considering the control the ring has over human minds, don't you think Sauron could convince the bird/moth to just give him the ring?

Plus, then they wouldn't get to kill so many orcs on the way:Q

how did sauron get so damn powerful to make the ring in the first place? and if he's that powerful, why can't he make an even better ring or an equivalent one? and of course for the ladies, how many karat gold is that ring??? ah a good tale but it brings up so many questions 😛

Sauron has winged beasts under his control as well, and he would see them coming on an Eagle from miles and miles away. It's a lot easier for a couple small hobbits to sneak into Mordor.

He was the Lieutenant of the previous Dark Lord, Morgoth for one 🙂 He can't make another one because he already forged most of his powers into the Ring. It can do a lot more than make you invisible...that is just what it does for a Hobbit. Put it in the hands of say, Gandalf, and you'd have a much different story. Put it in the hands of its Master, Sauron, and say buh-bye to Middle-earth. 🙂

Can I ask you a question Kami? Why did Sauron bother creating the ring in the first place? As I understand it, Sauron channeled most of his powers into that ring, making him complete whenever he wore it. Why make him vulnerable like that? Wasn't Sauron just as powerful before he created the ring?

It looks like Frodo has to put the on his finger to make him invisible. Why doesn't he swollow the ring and once he gets to the Volcano, he can poop into it. So he don't have to worry about losing it.

If the Bird can just drop the ring in the volcano, there wouldn't be 3 books. It would be just a paragraph.

"Ring Evil. Gave the bird the ring. Bird drop into volcano. Ring gone. THE END"

Ask a dumb question, get a dumb answer.

It's a movie......accept it and move on....

it's something to do with the other rings that were forged (3 for elves, 7 for dwarves, 9 for men)...by using this One ring, he could control the other rings of power. That means when the One ring is destroyed, the power of the other ones will also diminish. Galadriel uses her Ring to keep Lothlorien like it is..but that will all go away once the One Ring is destroyed.

<< but it in the hands of kami and you can say buh bye to AT

it would be come KamiTech
>>

ROFL!!! Yep, that's the first thing I'd do with it 😉

Sauron and the ring are attracted to each other like a fly is to shit. Why you ask ? Well because the ring is basiclly embued with his essence, his power and evil spirt because he eventually realized that as a fallen minor god he could only be vanquished some many times untill he becomes just a shadow of what he was when Middle-Earth was created and when he was in his prime in the 1st era. Damn I wish they would of made the Silmarillion into a movie first because it would so clear eveything up for people who have not read TLOR and basiclly layout the fantasy world for those don't know about the entire world and history Tolkien created.

Any flying creature attempting to fly inside the mountain would have more than a few dangers to avoid.

The evil armies have lots of archers, arrows bad.
Sarumon could create a wind storm causing the birdy to hit a wall or the ground.
Saurons forces had Ravens and similar "evil" birds that would chase down and kill it.
Birds can't sneak...
Perhaps the risk of the bird failing or dropping the ring was just too great a risk to take.

Frodo has to destroy the ring. Any other character can't throw the ring into fire and have it destroyed.

Watch the MOVIE!!!!!!

Not to be picky, but anyone could throw it in. It's just the Frodo (hobbits) can withstand the power of the ring more easily. 🙂

Isildur had the chance, but Men are so weak (in that sense at least) that he was corrupted almost instantly.

Because there would be no need for two more books or movie sequels. If he did that the story would end. Its like saying in Star Wars a new hope "why didnt they just shoot darth vaders ship at the end when he was out of control". Because the story arc would basically end. 🙂

<< well no one answered the most important question yet. how many karat is the ring?? >>

none, its not a gold ring, only look gold.

Well, for the people who haven't read the book, the eagle(can't remember his name off hand) that took off with Gandalf is a conscious, thinking creature like anybody else. He is represented in the Hobbit as well. The ring might have the same effect on him as it would a man, or dwarf, etc.

None of the other people at the confrence would have accepted the mission Frodo takes, and the bird probobaly wouldn't have either. For the same reasons too, it was a suicide mission. Frodo is not expected to live through it.

The most important power of the ring is that it turns your finger green. 🙂
