Lotes CPU plastic brace?

I have never actually built my first computer, since it already had the CPU connected to the motherboard, but now I am doing a full build.

Anyway, the mobo I bought from here on AT has some big black brace around the CPU socket labeled Lotes. I tried to connect my HSF but it won't?

What is this brace for? A custom, larger HSF? Is there anyway I can just use my generic one?

I'll get some pics up.
 
I figured out the problem: the HSF the guy sent me wasn't for socket 939 so it's too small
