That was a terrible cliffhanger ... simply because we've ALREADY been wondering what's in the hatch. It's not an OH $#!T I didn't expect that... what's next ?!... kind of cliffhanger. Alias had a nice one a couple seasons back... when Sydney woke up and had no clue what happened to her the past 2 years... and her eternal love was now married... that's 2 "oh sh!ts right there".

well, but you do have some pedophiles outta the blue, sawyer injured/dead leaving 2 maybe 3 guys stranded in the middle of the water and tons of people on the beach without any hope of being saved another season...

Well there was momentary resolution in 24, the cliffhange wasn't direct, you know where Jack is, but don't know what's gonna happen to him, but all the immediate conflicts were resolved. Add into it that the 24 finale was actually about an hour and a half where as lost was around 1:10, I'll take 24...

EDIT: Sorry, that seemed a bit hostile. I just really do not like it when I piece together things on my own and am immediately said to have been reading a spoiler site. I would never do that. I still have the 24 TVGuide from awhile back with spoilers, since I haven't seen the finale yet. I fractured my ankle on the 9th, so I didn't see the ep, and my Aunt messed up the tape by taping over it with the May 16th episode. I won't watch the finale or read the magazine until I see the 5/9 ep.

In summary, do not accuse of reading a spoiler site. Lost is too good of a show to ruin like that.
