I have the Microsoft Sculpt Mobile mouse and lost the frigging USB receiver. Should I just toss the whole mouse?

1. Buy another.

and

2a. You'll have a spare mouse in case one wears out or breaks.

or

2b. Return it without the USB receiver and it's unlikely anyone at Walmart/Target/Amazon will notice.

From what I understand each nano receiver is linked to the mouse it came with from the MS factory. This is where Logitech wireless products are superior as their receivers are able to "talk" with multiple devices of various models.

So I'm not sure buying one for a different mouse off Ebay is going to work. Just contact MS and sweet talk them into sending you a replacement.

Okay, so I called Microsoft in the number that was in the link that Hugh Jass posted. She told me that there is unfortunately no way to pair them up. I asked if there was something that I could buy and she continued to insist that the mouse was pretty much junk. But she then informed me that she was going to replace the entire mouse for free. Hugh, you were right, courtesy goes places. :)

Glad to hear it, Dain.

Just proves the old adage that you catch more flies with honey as opposed to vinegar.
