Okay, I have never watched the show, but I know it has a big following. Someone bought me the first season on DVD as a present. I watched the first episode. Is it some kind of supernatural moster type horror thingy?Is that what the show is? No spoliers please.

i love it for the character development and stories.

it's definitely not a horror flick show.
 
It's more drama and mystery than anything else. The "scary" parts are few and far inbetween. The reason the show is so popular is because of the details storylines and how each character is somehow connected with others from the plane.

If you are watching it from the begining, know this: just about every detail has some meaning to the larger plot.

LOST is awesome...i watched the first season on DVD as well, and boy was I glad that I could just pop in the next disc instead of waiting an entire week to see the next episode.
 
It is a piece of crap. I watched for the first half of last year and then simply couldn't stand it any more. Nothing interesting ever happened, and it was full of totally unrealistic plot lines.

Worst. Show. Ever!

You must have misunderstood. Before I start watching all the epsiodes I just wanted to know if it's one big horror movie, because in that case I wouldn't want to waste my time. I have my answer already.
