My girlfriend has a fairly new Compaq laptop. She was recently having problems with WinME problems due to low system resources. She called their tech support and got that fixed, however now the sound icon is completely gone from windows.
I tried reinstalling the drivers for the laptop. However I looked in System under the Control Panel and it has a conflict, but it still says the device is working properly.
In addition everytime she plays a song via winamp, an error pops up and refers to Kernel32.dll having an error/corrupted?
What should I do to fix her laptop? ( I don't know much about laptops, and I wanted to check with the experts)
