i didn't catch that. had they said in the first season how her father died? is their last name rutherford?

though if the island is the contaminated portion and the hatch is the safe area, why would walt, the crazy psychic kid, tell locke not to open the hatch?!
i wish i could just watch the show like i watched season 1 on the dvds with no commercials and one right after another! arghhhhh 1 week.. argh..

ahhhh.......that was a pretty awesome episode. i've only seen sporadic episodes of season 1 and now i want to sit and watch them all before 2x2 😀
btw, i called Desmond being in the hatch to a friend when i saw the stadium scene too. the hair was a clue, but also the fact that he was a workout fanatic sealed the deal for me.

does anyone think that desmond's claim to doing a race around the world has any significance?

as good as this show is, i cant help but hate it. I just know Im in for a letdown when they reveal the "secret". Its just that they have dragged this show along for so long without giving us any clue as to whats going on that no matter how they play it now, im gonna be disappointed since my hopes are so high
Also...heard this on the radio this morning.
-Shannon's dad died at 8:15. They were on flight 815
-# on vial that Desmond injected himself with are the same as THE #s
-inside the hatch, they showed graffiti on the walls which had the # 108 written all over it. 108 is sum of THE #s
-some woman called saying she recorded it and played back what walt was saying backwards and she thought it sounded like "dont push the button, its bad"
-When jack was about to push a button on the keyboard, Locke told him "I wouldnt do that if I were u"
