Lost Planet for PC

As title states, is anyone else picking up this game? I've played the demo on PC and 360, liked it so I pre-ordered on steam for $36.

I think I might actually get it. I played it on my PC w/ my XBOX360 controller and it felt really good. I enjoyed the demo.

I hope it's a good game, I'm tired of console ports being done so poorly.

And Capcom is one of the worst offender for screwing up ports. Their last port, Resident Evil 4, didn't even come with mouse support.

Make sure to read a couple of reviews to see how bad they screwed it up, before you consider buying it.

i was surprised how well it ran on my brother's Sempron64/1gig ram/6600GT. not bad at all, believe it or not. just not very detailed 😛

Nope, PC demo bored the crap out of me; good benchmarking tool though!

The demo was crap; one of the worst ports I've ever seen. I had to go through hoops just to have it display my correct resolution (1680x1050). If the finished game is anything like that I'll stay away from it.

I just started playing and the game runs TONS smoother than the demo. Running Vista w/DX10 and everything maxed except shadows and AA @ 2x and i average 40+ fps. Not sure what my max is because I keep vsync on. Oh yeah this is at 1920x1200

Loved the demo, so I got it off steam. Unfortunately my 2900xt shuts down my computer when I play this game...I don't think it's getting enough juice from my 500w psu....argh

Very very poor port. Not fun to play.

actually i feel quite the contrary. This has to be the best port I've played an a while, especially compared to like R5:vegas for example.

Hey Soy, let me know how well your 2900 runs the game and at what settings

The demo ran pretty well on my pc. I will be picking this up as well. Probably this weekend once the check comes in.

I thought it might be interesting but the controls sucked shitegg on the pc and the 'help' was for an xbox with a b button 🙂 lousy port.

Will do once my new psu gets here. It'll be DX9 tho

Cool, the 8800 is no slouch, but contrary to popular belief, i think the 2900 series is gonna excel at games with tons of shaders... but we will see. Hell, given the state of nvidia's vista drivers of late, i had actually considered switching to a 2900 myself

As of late? I've had no issues in Vista with my nVidia drivers ever since they released a set of drivers that fixed most of the annoying issues months ago.

I won't buy Lost Planet for the PC because I already own it for the XBOX 360 oh and if it's anything like the demo, it'll be a crappy port where control and configuration is a mere afterthought.

The demo was ok . I preordered it thru AMAZON. I have a 8800 GTS 640mb, e6320 ect. Played it with out a hitch. ((x10)

Ok, I passed judgement too quickly. I was playing it on my 17" LCD before. I loaded it up on the 47" LCD in the living room @ 1920x1080, and I was stunned. I don't know that I've ever seen better graphics.

Mouse control is still pretty clunky, and it runs kinda choppy (25fps) at the high res. with all the goodies turned on. Would adding another 8800gts help that?
