Right now I think I like 3 best, but I'll probably change my mind. I used manual mode, shutter of 1/200s, ISO 100, and f/16-ish. F/stop wasn't really crucial because the spider is so flat. My flashes were in E-TTL mode so they provide correct exposure no matter what camera settings I use.

All spiders are poisonous. Argiopes are large and pretty visible, so they hardly ever bite people unless someone goes out of their way to piss them off. The venom isn't strong enough to harm a person much more than a bee sting. I suppose alergic reactions are possible, but that can be said of anything.

I only looked at the first one because it made me cringe, but it was a damn nice looking picture!

I'm not sure if it wa a hoax o not, but I saw a really, really big spider picture here a while ago . .

and in the second pic it looked as if someone had smashed it with a wall clock, and its legs were sticking at almost even intervals, so we are talking ~1foot in diameter, and I'm wondering if thats even possible.

BTW, the pic . . it was inside someones house right over a window. Imagine coming home to find THAT waiting for you. I bet Raid wouldn't even faze it . . . you would have to go bug spray+lighter.

You have a 100-400 Usm Is...man..drool. When will I ever be out of be out of depth enough to buy me some fancy camera equipment.

I did get a nice 100-300 USM...my most precious comodity. They are fantastic and the optical quality on these babies are incredible.

lirion..I think you have some great work here. Out of these shots, 1,3, and 6 are the best ones, I didn't particularly like the other shots too much. But these shots were fantastic and the lighting on them were great. I would really love to see shot 3 from a different perspective; perhaps a different angle. Also, the composition on the shot 1 was great; I really love how the green stem is frames the side of the picture. Very nice job. Me being a newbie..I must go check out your other works.. :D

At my work a spider made it into the bathroom and set up a web right in front of the mirror, about 1/2" away from it. It looks super cool because it looks like there are two parallel webs and spiders. I think my boss got a few pics with his digicam, but it's only an old 1.2 MP camera I think...

Damn.. I missed this one too?

I've only seen 2 of those spiders in my life.. Once, it was up close and personal while walking through a field..

Not fun. :Q

Put it this way, the thing wrapped up in the bottom right is a small child :Q
