Lost my wallet

It had to happen sometime.....this is the first time I've lost my wallet and it just happens to be at one of the worst times. I'm from Saint Louis and am in San Antonio visiting my parents. I had 3 credit cards, a debit card, my drivers license and my social security card.

I've canceled all of the credit/debit cards, and had the MO DMV fax me a copy of my drivers license. I will have to get a re-issued drivers license and a new social security card sent to me when I get back.

I am hoping that they will let me aboard the return flight on Sunday morning with the copy of my d/l. I will have to be at the airport a couple hours early and go through extensive search of my luggage and etc...

Basically, has anybody else been in this situation? Or am I the only one unfortunate/stupid enough to lose the wallet on vacation?

Why do people carry SS card in their wallet?

I was wondering the same thing. There is absolutely no reason to be carrying your SS card on your person all the time. There is no need for it.

As for the photocopy of the license, I am thinking it might depend on the TSA personnel on that day. Its not exactly a "government issued ID"

I should have explained that......

I actually needed it to renew my plates as my 2nd form of identification. I dont know why its needed.

I just did it this week and forgot to take it out with how hectic my week had been to this point.
